Tour Program

Çanakkale City Center

The city is on Asian bank of Dardanelles Strait, which links Aegean Sea with the Sea of Marmara while separating Europe from Asia. The city was called “Dardanelles” in ancient times, and there has been evidence of a settlement in the Çanakkale area since B.C. 3000. As the city is on the Dardanelles/Çanakkale Strait, one of the two major water passages connecting the Mediterranean and Black Sea, the area is rich in history and culture. The site of the historical city of Troy is close to Çanakkale.

Naval Museum

The museum positioned around (and including) the Çimenlik Castle which dates back to 1461. A replica of a minelayer named Nusret that was employed in the naval battle of Dardanelles and photos taken during the period is among the exhibition of the museum.

Trojan Horse

The one that is used in the movie Troy, donated to the city. Now located two minutes’ walk east of ferry harbor, on the waterfront.

Gallipoli

Gallipoli is a peninsula locality in north-western Turkey. The Gallipoli Peninsula is the site of extensive First World War battlefields and memorials on the north bank of the Dardanelles Strait. It is a commemorative site for the British Empire, France and Turkish forces who fought, died and was wounded there.

Anzac Cove

The area around Anzac Cove is particularly significant for Australians and New Zealanders, whose armies received their baptism in fire on the cliffs there, and carved a fine military reputation under extreme adversity and enormous loss of life; and this military disaster marked the beginning of a separate Australian and New Zealand nationhood. The 1915 landings and battles are commemorated by Australians and New Zealanders on ANZAC Day, 25 April, every year. At this time especially, Gallipoli becomes a place of pilgrimage for many Aussies and Kiwis who want to honor the memory of their forbears.
