Çanakkale

Situated on the Asian side of the Dardanelles Strait, Çanakkale connects the Aegean Sea with the Sea of Marmara, serving as a gateway between Europe and Asia. With human settlements dating back to 3000 B.C., it remains a city steeped in history and culture. The nearby archaeological site of Troy and the WWI battlefields of Gallipoli make it one of Türkiye’s most historically significant regions.

Naval Museum & Çimenlik Castle

Built in 1461 during the reign of Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror, Çimenlik Castle is home to the Çanakkale Naval Museum. The museum exhibits a detailed collection of photographs, military artifacts, and a replica of the minelayer ship Nusret, which played a key role in the Battle of Dardanelles.

Trojan Horse

Standing proudly on the Çanakkale waterfront, the Trojan Horse from the Hollywood film Troy (2004) was gifted to the city after filming. It has since become a beloved landmark and a popular photo stop for visitors exploring the ancient legends of the region.

Gallipoli Peninsula

The Gallipoli Peninsula holds a special place in world history as the site of the 1915 Gallipoli Campaign during World War I. Anzac Cove

Located on the western shore of the peninsula, Anzac Cove was the landing site for the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) during the 1915 campaign. Each year on April 25, thousands of visitors gather here for the ANZAC Day commemorations, honoring the fallen in a moving dawn service.
